Everyone’s leadership journey looks different because we all have different leadership goals. Our representatives will meet with you to better understand your wants and needs of the experience and help you find the perfect opportunity!

Apply & Interview
Once you find an opportunity or two that you really like, you can fill out the application form and the project hosts will contact you for an interview with the organization you would work with.

Get approved and go!
Once the organization approves you to work with their project, all that’s left is to pay the exchange fee and start prepping for your exchange experience.

For the Philippines, I was in complete culture shock, coming from Nova Scotia, where the largest city has about 300,000 people, to Manilla that is enormous, congested and hot. In Belgium, I was surprised by how incredible the food was, the amazing variety of beer, and how everyone seemed to be able to speak at least three languages. If you are thinking about exchange, just do it. Go somewhere, anywhere, outside of our comfort zone. Learn new skills, meet new people, and develop a bit of grit. It will be a part of your unique and everlasting story.

The people I interacted with during the 6 weeks in India surprised me the most because of how welcoming everyone was. I felt supported and like I belonged in a foreign country from the very first day. To anyone thinking about exchange, I would say Know why you want to do it and embrace the experience.

Do it! I had amazing experiences in both my exchanges (in Taiwan and China) and they were honestly the highlight of my university career so far. I made a lot of friends who I still talk to and came out with a lot of interesting stories.

AIESEC is a designated Recognized Organization (RO) of the Government of Canada’s International Experience Canada (IEC) program. Through our partnership we can help guide you through the work permit process by providing you with 1-on-1 support.

As we are an international youth-led organization, our mission is to empower and create opportunities for individuals between the ages of 18-30 years old, so all volunteers and interns must be within this range.

As our projects are all over the world and partnered with many different organizations, the requirements for projects vary based on each opportunity. AIESEC itself has no specific requirements to signup so we do our best to help find projects that meet your own experience level and abilities.
